Asbestos was used often in construction of buildings in Australia until it was discovered in the late 1980’s the harm it can cause to our health. Asbestos needs to be dealt with appropriately by someone with the knowledge and training and that’s what we do.

If you want to feel secure knowing that this highly dangerous substance is no longer anywhere to be found in your building let us help you.

Quite a few commercial and domestic buildings will have friable asbestos or bonded asbestos. Bonded asbestos is at the low end of the risk scale but should still be checked and the risk needs to be weighed up. There are very high levels of asbestos present in friable asbestos and will break down easily into fibres meaning they can become airborne.

The only way you can be sure the building is safe and have peace of mind is to contact our highly skilled team for an inspection. We can have laboratory testing carried out to give a 100% guarantee of our findings. Having this done will give you a true risk factor to having occupants in the building and the specific type and grade of the asbestos.

The risks of asbestos are nothing to be sniffed at. Intestinal cancers, lung cancers and other dangerous ailments are what the occupants of the building are facing if there is any asbestos present. Don’t risk it, contact Complete Asset Building Inspections on 0417 462 882.

What is Asbestos?

Asbestos is a quantity of fibrous silicate materials bonded together. The only fibro products that would contain asbestos were produced before 1987. Sadly it was not until 31st December 2003 that all use of asbestos in manufacture was banned. For this reason it is vitally important to have buildings thoroughly checked.

Why is it Dangerous?

Breathing in asbestos fibres can cause a bevy of health issues such as lung cancer, mesothelioma and more. The amount of asbestos fibres inhaled actually increases your risk of related diseases and the chance of lung cancer is even higher to smokers who inhale asbestos fibres.

Those who have inhaled a high amount of asbestos for an extended period of time are at great risk and any disease caused by asbestos inhalation doesn’t usually show up for approximately 20 to 30 years after the initial exposure.
